Concrete Riding
by Richard Ferry
(sung to the tune of the sea shanty "Donkey Riding")

1. Let me tell you of our dam
to build it we should've had a tram
then we could've had time for a dram--
riding on some concrete

Chorus: Hey ho and away we go concrete riding, concrete riding
Hey ho and away we go, riding on some concrete

2. It's out in the middle of no where,
if you knew you wouldn't go there,
territory of cougar and bear--
riding on some concrete

3. To get the concrete down the gorge
was a fate worse than Valley Forge,
but then we figured it out by George,
--riding on some concrete

4. Mike and Tom built a plywood slide
and with the concrete we did ride
barreling down the mountain side,
--riding on some concrete

5. Two bags on some cardboard,
Lynn and Brooke mounted topward,
then they continued on downward
--riding on some concrete

6. With a holler down they'd go
there was no way to go slow
they put on quite a show
--riding on some concrete

7. Going down they'd hope and pray
that they'd live another day
at the bottom the rocks would spray
--riding on some concrete

8. In the end it all got down
everything was safe and sound
time to start the next round
--riding on some concrete

9. Lyle and Beamer built the wall,
half as wide as it is tall
it's so thick, it will never fall
--riding on some concrete

10. John and Mike they built the mold
it turned out as good as gold
could hold two people I've been told
--riding on some concrete

11. Katherine, Tommy, Michael and Angeline,
helped with tasks down on the stream
everyone was part of the team
--riding on some concrete

12. Now the dam is on the creek
we take a swim nearly every week
the cold water is not for the meek
--riding on some concrete.
